Maps of Garforth for boundary determination, overviews and areas of specific interest
The GSN Issue 1
There are a number of areas of Garforth and Swillington ward that have mysteriously been assigned to the Leeds East HMCA. They are highlighted in red
GSN Issue 2
This map shows the HMCA boundaries defined by Leeds City Council. Apart from claiming parts of Garforth and Swillington ward Leeds East also laid claim to pieces of land in Scholes parish and intend to build 470 houses on it. Scholes is in Outer North East area. Scholes objected and eventually the Outer North East was credited with 470 houses.
GSN Issue 3
The highlighted area is GSN. GSN stands for Garforth and Swillington polling district N. It is in Garforth and Swillington ward. Leeds City Council plan to build 2700 houses there. If they also build 2300 houses in Garforth then our ward will be accommodating 5000 new homes. If we can claim credit from Leeds East for these 2700 houses then there will be no need to build 2300 in Garforth or 500 houses in the rest of the Outer South East.
GSN Issue 4
As an aside, this is the banner from the facebook page of the Outer East Community Committee Area, created by Leeds City Council. It clearly shows which areas are East Leeds and which area is Garforth and Swillington
